Plenty of people watched this couple with admiration and made high expectations for their shared future. But Angie and Brad follow their own scenario.
The actress split Pitt in 2016, the breakup was tough for both. Then there were long and exhausting divorce proceedings. Three years passed and the divorce hasn't been over yet.
But ex-spouses have made considerable progress:
- Angelina Jolie-Pitt is now officially back to Angelina Jolie. She dropped her married last name, according to court documents.
- Besides, they requested a bifurcation. As a result, they are granted single status by the judge, though their divorce hasn’t been technically finalized yet. California is one of the states, that let parties get single status, despite the other pending issues.
What steps will be next?
Relationship of Hollywood stars began in summer 2005, they changed their condition in 2014. Jolie decided to get a divorce in 2016 due to irreconcilable differences.
Status and name change are serious steps that make former spouses feel better. Thus, as the source reports, Brad wants to move forward and close this chapter in his life. He feels great to officially being single and he really needs it.
In May 2017 Pitt gave a comment about their divorce: "We're both doing our best. I heard one lawyer say, 'No one wins in court—it's just a matter of who gets hurt worse.' And it seems to be true, you spend a year just focused on building a case to prove your point and why you're right and why they're wrong, and it's just an investment in vitriolic hatred. I just refuse. And fortunately, my partner in this agrees. It's just very, very jarring for the kids, to suddenly have their family ripped apart."
Now they are working on custody arrangement in court. According to the temporary one, Angelina has primary custody of their six children. Brad is allowed to see children on a regular basis. But a permanent custody arrangement probably will give Brad more possibilities to see his kids.
