Ray McKinnon: biography
Born in a small town Adel, Ray McKinnon became a well-known titled actor and director. Ray was a created TV series Rectify, which was shown on SundanceTV in 2013-2016. Ray presented many unforgettable and unusual characters as an actor. In more than 20 years, McKinnon became the owner of an impressive resume, including memorable roles on FX's Sons of Anarchy (as Lincoln Potter) and the award-winning HBO series Deadwood (as Reverend H.W. Smith).

Childhood and youth
Ray is the native of Adel, the county seat of Cook County, Georgia. Its population was about 5 000 people. Ray was born there on November 15, 1957. His father worked as a car dealer, while his mother was a housewife. It was a middle-class family. Ray studied at small local schools. Adel didn’t have any opportunities to become a big personality, that’s why Ray moved to Valdosta, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in theatre.
In 1989 Ray started his TV series and movie career. He got his first role in an episode of In the Heat of the Night. Soon he filmed in movies like Driving Miss Daisy, Tune in Tomorrow, Bugsy, Sommersby, and Needful Things. In 1995, Ray went on to receive a role as a FIDO in 1995 movie Apollo 13.
He further grabbed roles in movies like Dead Man’s Walk, NYPD Blue, The X Files, Randy and the mob, The Last Lullaby, and Justified. In 2009 he starred in That Evening Sun as character Lonzo Choat for which he got nominated an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male.

Ray and Lisa Blount tied the knot in 1998. They lived happily together for 12 years. However, Lisa got diagnosed with Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Deadwood actor lost his better half on the 27th of October, 2010.
In 2016 during his press conference, Ray said that he still missed his wife. That’s why he has not married since his wife’s death. He even does not have a girlfriend at present and is not seen with many women in public. The couple didn’t have any children. In 2001 the couple was awarded by the Academy for The Accountant. Ray and Lisa won the title of best live action short film.
Lisa had always been a complement to Ray. Lisa, as an actress and producer, was the greatest support in Ray’s successful life. She remained a loving wife despite how occupied Ray got in acting, directing, and all the stuff he did. The actor currently resides in his wife’s hometown, Little Rock, Arkansas. He is a fan of TV series Game of Thrones.
