Dominic Purcell: biography
The Anglo-Australian actor Dominic Purcell starred mainly in American films. Although the man has a great filmography, the real popularity and recognition of the audience brought him the role in the film Blade: Trinity and the series Prison Break.
Childhood and youth
Dominic was born in winter 1970 in England, in the country of Merseyside. The full name of the actor is Dominic Haakon Myrtved Purcell; his paternal grandfather was Norwegian; hence the second man's name formed.
When the boy was two years old, his family moved from England to Australia. They chose the suburb of Sydney Bondi as their residence and later moved to the West of Sydney. Dominic went to school there. The boy studied well and he actively participated in school life at the same time.
Purcell had the idea to be an actor in his youth. After watching the film Platoon directed by Oliver Stone, he even lights up this idea and goes to drama school, where he receives the first knowledge and skills of acting.
After graduating from school, Dominic decides to continue his studies in the chosen direction. The young man enters the Australian Theatre for Young People ("ATRY") and later enrolled at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts for this. However, the actor was not all the time devoted to study in his youth. He was fond of surfing, often attended local competitions and improved the technique of possession of the board.

The series Prison Break was released on television in 2005, brought great success to the actor. The film tells the story of two brothers, the eldest of whom was sentenced to death. Moreover, he did not commit the crime of which he is accused but he awaits execution in prison, failing to prove his innocence. His younger brother tries to save him. He gets into the same prison, committing a bank robbery intentionally and organizes an escape in the final of the 1st season, using clever combinations.
Purcell played the main role in this movie. He was the best for the image of Lincoln Burrows and coped with the task correctly. Whereas the tape gained popularity, it was decided to shoot new seasons, the release of which lasted until 2009. Russian viewers saw the 5th season in 2017.
For this role, the man received the award of the AACTA Awards as Best Actor in the series in 2007. Meanwhile, the actor appears in several movies and TV shows. His filmography is replenished with films Blood Creek, Castle, Straw Dogs, Bailout: The Age of Greed and others.
At the beginning of 2016, the TV series DC's Legends of Tomorrow was released. The events take place in a fictional universe where a time traveler together with a team of heroes and villains confront a deadly threat that must happen in the future. At the end of October 2018, the premiere of the 4th season of the beloved series was held. The date of the final series was not announced yet. It is also unknown whether to shoot the continuation of the picture.
Purcell starred in the film on the same site with Wentworth Miller who played his brother in the series Prison Break. Although colleagues spend a lot of time at work, they do not have close relationships in life and they are not friends. Dominic told about it in an interview.
Despite the regular releases of the series DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Dominic manages to work in other films along with this project. In 2017, there were three series, where the audience watched their favorite actor Prison Break: Sequel, Supergirl, Arrow.
The personal life of Purcell is not stable yet. While studying at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, he met his future wife, Rebecca. The young people lived in Australia for a while and Dominic moved with the family to Laguna Beach in California when they received a residence permit in the United States in 2000. Their firstborn Joseph was one year old at that time.
Having settled in a new place, Rebecca gave birth to her husband's daughter Audrey. They have four children. In addition to Audrey and Joseph, the woman gave birth to twins Augustus and Lily-Rose in 2003. Their marriage didn't last long. When the younger children were five years old, the couple divorced.
In 2011, the media reported that Purcell dated the famous actress AnnaLynne McCord. The new relationship between two actors lasted three years and their parting was not final in 2014. After two years, people saw young people together more often and they announced the restoration of relations soon. However, McCord and Purcell broke up again in 2018.
