Taran Killam: biography
The actor was born in a family of artists, and his mother was a singer-songwriter while his father was an actor. Since childhood, he was obsessed with acting and studied acting performance and theater. At high school, he was a musical theater student, but he decided to pursue the career of acting. He made his first steps as an actor in his early ages. When Taran was twelve, he appeared in the famous movie Naked Gun, besides he appeared on the show at childish channels. The actor has got a brother who plays in the metal band.
In 1999 he starred at “Amanda Show,” and his fame started increasing. Later, when Taran was nineteen, he appeared on the comedy TV series MADtv and became the youngest actor of the cast. Taran worked on this project during 2001-2002 and appeared in more than half episodes.
In 2010 he became the cast member of the popular TV show “SNL” which gave him a significant prominence. Since the 2000s the actor appeared on numerous TV shows and comedy series, How I Met Your Mother and Scrubs among them. Till 2012 he retired from the improvisational sketch comedy group the Groundlings.
Besides numerous TV shows, Taran appeared on a big screen. In 2004 he starred in the movie “Stuck in Suburbs.” He starred on “12 Years a Slave”, which had big commercial and critical success. This drama film was significant for the actor’s career. Though he played a minor role, his work was highly appreciated.
He worked as an actor, co-producer, director, and writer in the movie “Killing Gunter.” Taran worked as a voice actor, during 2013-2015 he voiced one of the main characters of animated series “Nature Cat.”

He appeared on 126 episodes of the show and worked for the show for six years. In 2016 that the veteran of the show was axed. As it reported, the show needed new blood, that’s why his contract wasn’t renewed.
He is also well-known for his sketches featuring the character Ashton Kutcher.
The actor was married to Cobbie Smulders after several years of dating. They have got two kids, a son, and a daughter. His favorite films are Star Wars and James Bond. He is a vivid reader of comics. In 2011 he posted a video on YouTube which was a parody on the musical video “Call Your Girlfriend.” In 2011 this video became an Internet phenomenon and attracted much attention.
